Hi, everybody ... we just got back, and I will post a trip report in the next couple of days.

We went on the Bishops lagoon cruise on Saturday, and the word was that the "Survivor" folks have been scoping out two of the motu. I don't know which ones they are, but supposedly, One Foot Island is NOT among them. However, I heard the producers are thinking that Aitutaki is too nice and doesn't have enough scary critters, and they are also looking at New Caledonia.

Hopeful news you bring Sanveann! How I wish there are enough scary critters in New Caledonia!

Looking forward to your report.

Just received an e-mail from one the Survivor followers that mentions that the first lot of Survivor (SEG) cargo containers will arrive in Aitutaki on approximately April 20th.

Since I'll be on Aitutaki during the the time of the first arrival, it sounds like I may get to see it first hand.

She also says that an Internet fan confirmed that many resorts in Aitutaki have been completely reserved from June to mid-August by the American Survivor production company.

As much as I love the show Survivor I'm not happy that Survivor may be in production during our stay on Aitutaki in June. For me it takes away the island holiday feel that I'm looking forward to.

I particularly dislike resorts with large conference centres... people are working and are already in their social groups, unfriendly and they take over the place often in a big , noisy way. I see Survivor's working production team no different and

I can't think of anything worse.

I just hope we don't get bumped off our plane and accommodation, after all money talks.

Below is Air Raro's conditions which is really scary for us mere plebs.

RESERVATIONS NOT GUARANTEED

If you have a confirmed reservation, we will do our best to ensure you have a seat on the flight requested but we are unable to guarantee you that seat whatever the "confirmed reservation" or other status of your booking. We reserve the right to cancel any flight at any time although we will do our best to give you reasonable notice of any cancellation. Where we cancel a scheduled service before you are accepted at check-in and issued with a boarding pass, we will not be responsible for any expenses incurred by you as a result of that cancellation.

Nice one! Finger crossed. Cheers Gerry

The pacific resort in Ait, have removed the availablity section on there website. I recall seeing alot of May/June/July heavily booked before they removed access to it.

Not sure if that's related but who knows!

AndDee1979 -

Yep, sounding more and more like it's going to be Aitutaki.

Just had an email from Etu Moana. They told me filming will be July/Aug/Sept. She said still no definite word on which islands.

Ken,

if your going to be on the islands, keep us up to date on the Survivor filming. Most interested in how they decided on Aitutaki. Could all of us that have been to cook's writing good reviews have helped?

Does anyone have a feel for how much of a hollywood circus they could cause on the island during filming? We are a bit concerned as our honeymoon is in Aitutaki in July....Andy
