My friends and I are going back and forth about our ideal itinerary for our New Years trip to Machu Picchu. And we're driving the travel agent crazy!
We're only doing the 2 day hike ... some of us want to be in Machu Picchu for New Years eve day, then travel back to Cusco in time for New Years eve night festivites...while others want to do Machu Picchu earlier in the week and just hang out in Cusco all day on 12/31.
There's also the wrinkle of some wanting to go to the Pisac market (and it's only open on certain days).
So FINALLY here are the questions:
Do we really need two days to acclimatize?
Is the Pisac Market REALLY something that can't be missed?
WHich Itinerary is better? (see below)
12/27 arrive in cuzco;relax
12/28 inca trail
12/29 inca trail
12/30 do the sacred valley tour on this day, since it's sunday and market will be happening
12/31 rest, go to nice dinner, new years eve party
27th - Sacred Valley/market
28th - free day
29th - free day
30th - Inca Trail
31st - Inca Trail
Also Thanks Xochitl for your answering my previous question!
