Pisac Market

We plan to go to the Pisac market on Sunday and would like to take in the Quechua Mass at the Iglesia San Pedro Apostolo and watch the costumed procession led by the mayor. My Fodors book says that this starts at 11 am. However, I think I read on one of the TA forums that it starts at 9:30 am. Does anyone have any experience with this and can tell me what time it actually occurs.

I have only caught it once about 6 months ago and it was about 10:30 or 11:00. I imagine you will want to wander the market a bit so I would get there a little early and just check with a few locals to see what time it will be.

I believe the actual service starts at 11 am but if you want to photograph the mayors as they arrive you can get there from about 10 or 10:30. I went in 2012 and they would sit on the benches outside, waiting for others to arrive. A tip is expected for photographs.
