Machu Picchu

Is it possible to buy a ticket for entrance to MP, without doing a Trek or a Tour.

I know they limit the number of people on Inca Trail, is it he same with entrance to MP ?

Absolutely. You can book the whole thing yourself. This is the official site for booking entrance tickets online.

http://www.machupicchu.gob.pe/

There is a daily limit, but it's pretty high, 2500 I think. If you search on this forum, there are lots of people who said that the general entrance ticket is easy to get just a day or two ahead.

However a number of people have reported that the above site often does not work with foreign credit cards. You can also book a hotel and ask your hotel, or an agent in Peru, to reserve the tickets for you. We are going in a few months and picked a hotel in Agua Calientes and, after reserving with them, had them book the entrance tickets for us.

Also, if you don't hike the Inca Trail, you need to take a train to Machu Picchu from the Sacred Valley or Cusco, so you'll need to book a train ticket as well. perurail.com is the most common but there are others.

Again, the questions you are asking are common so if you search through the forum, you'll find people who probably explain how to do all this in more detail. But you definitely do not have to do it as a group tour.
