We had the great fortune to work with Cultural Immersion Peru on a recent 3 week trip. Although we consider ourselves experienced travelers, Peru is not the easiest country to tour independently and I can't say enough about the itinerary arranged for us by Eduardo Becerro www.inkastravel.com. Eduardo arranges the whole spectrum of trips: adventure, budget and first class. We booked one of his standard tours, then requested add ons. I felt that the prices were fair and reasonable. Peru is a bargain in today's travel world.

One detail we hadn't included was a bout with altitude sickness, which meant a trip to a clinic in Cusco. Yep! Eduardo arranged the appointment, sat with us all evening while tests were processed, then accompanied us to find chicken soup at a local eatery--quite off the tourist route. Service above and beyond, I'd say. A Cusco local, he's well educated and has spent time in the US before establishing his company.

It is really great to have trusted drivers arranged and awaiting you for airport/bus/train station transfers. Especially in Lima. We enjoyed a careful mix of small group tours, each with highly knowledgeable guides, hotel vouchers for independent overnights and time to shop and explore several destinations.

Take a look at his web site. I'll guess you may find just what you're looking for. There's even a "Plan your own adventure" to help you.

From the day we arrived til the day we left Peru, Cultural Immersion Peru has provided us with the best services, from transportation and accommodation to the guides and even the venues. It was all seamless.

Only having 11 days to see the culture and beauty of Peru, Eduardo and his team at Cultural Immersion have been first class in accommodating to our needs and we would like to send him our personal thanks for being so awesome!

Be sure check out Cultural Immersion the next time you're planning to visit Peru (www.inkastravel.com)

Thanks again Eduardo.. We wont be forgetting the Pisco Sours anytime soon

I have another wonderful company to recommend for an extremely personalized, amazing trip to Peru. I am an avid traveller and have visited at least 30 countries. I enjoy planning my own trips and sat down to do the same for Peru. However, as Khagwell so correctly states, "Peru is not the easiest country to tour independently". Although Peru is quite "traveller friendly" you really need someone who knows his or her way around Peru in order to optimize the joy of your trip. I found Nina at ancientsummit.com on Travel Advisor and contacted her with my tentative 8 day itinerary for Peru and asked a few questions. A day or two later, I was telephoned by Nina who spoke with me on the phone for two hours. She wanted to get a feel for exactly what my family and I most wanted from this trip and quickly got back to me with a more reasonable itinerary, suggestions for hotels and special events with her close friends who live in Peru. Nina lives in the U.S. but has lived and worked in Peru in the past and returns frequently to see "what's new". Her itinerary was designed to optimize our travel experience while helping us to avoid altitude problems (successfully!) and take us to sites and experiences that were "off the beaten path". At each stop we were greeted by a private guide and driver and never had to worry about logistics. Checking into our hotels was done by the guides while my family and I relaxed in the lobby. Frankly, I have experienced luxury travel at it's finest, but Nina's gang made this the easiest trip that I have ever had to take. It was nice to be the one told where and when to meet for a change, instead of being the one that organized everything! Nina's partner, Meri, lives in Cuzco and met up with us and our guides from time to time to check that everything was perfect. Nina and Meri even called us from time to time to check on us. I felt very pampered at all times. When I compared our trip to those of others who have visited Peru, I find that my colleagues are surprised at the personal touches we experienced. We particularly enjoyed spending the day with a chef in the Sacred Valley who took us on a trip to the Market and then gave us a family cooking lesson. The food, friendship and wine were so wonderful that we returned to the restaurant for dinner that night. Our new friend sat with us the entire evening! I could go on and on, but suggest, instead, that you build your own wonderful memories by visiting this phenomenal country. Contact nina@ancientsummit.com if you would like to have expert and personalized guidance in planning your trip.

Hello:

Like many others had a wonderful trip with Yure Chavez, and his Company called: PERU TREK 4 GOOD ( www.yurechavez.com )

These guys are great, they designed the custom trip we wanted (luxury hotels, private exclusive tours, very comfortable transportation, typical meals, etc, etc).

I also contacted other companies about the exactly the same trip and Yure’s trip was cheaper and had a very good value, it was so well organized that we were never worried about anything, we just enjoyed as much as we could, specially the lots of lectures he gave us everyday about all the sites, history, people, culture, plants, birds, etc etc. He was an amazing tour leader & guide.

A very important fact about him and his company is that they are from Peru and work with a NGO (The Mountain Fund) from the USA, in great social projects, helping farmers living in highlands mainly in health and education, during our trip we visited and helped some of them.

I can not recommend him and his company enough!!

Ditto. He can arrange any combination or class of independent or guided trip you want. Thanks to everyone who has recommended Yure in the past for leading me to him.

We had a wonderful trip in Peru thanks to Eduardo of Cultural Immersion. Our group decided to take a tour on the Salkantay trek offered by several travel agency in Cusco. We sent emails to many of them about information requests/possibilities, but from the first replies it was clear that Cultural Immersion is different than most of the others. Eduardo sent clear informations, arranged/modified/extended the trip to our needs and he did all these quickly without any problem. I can tell that the four days trip was even better than we expected. First class tents and accomodation, always in time transportation, friendly and helpful colleges of Eduardo and our guide (Chino :) ) was amazing. He knows the area very well (flora, fauna, tracks, peoples, etc.) and as an addition has a really strong historical and cultular knowledge. We met local peoples not just to say a hello, but to speak with them about the life in the highlands. We enjoyed every moment of this trip.
