I personally think everyone should take some kind of motion sickness remedy along. Unless you spend a lot of time on (and INSIDE) boats, you just never know how you might react or what Mother Nature might have in store for you. On our first trip, we got the patches primarily for me. I had never been on a boat for longer than a day sail, so who knew how I'd react? My husband, a lifelong sailor, got a prescription too--what the heck. However, I was just fine and my husband used them! We never would have predicted that. He didn't really feel nauseated but rather kind of fuzzy-headed. The patch cleared that up right away. If he could be outside on the decks, he was just fine. But inside the boat, you can't see that horizon line and, well, there you go...

No reason to risk having a miserable time on such a wonderful trip when so many effective options are out there.
