Believe me, my statement wasn't directed to anyone in particular. Just an observation. I guess because I am fortunate enough to go every 2 yrs for 2 1/2 weeks at a time, I am able to visit the other areas of Chile each time I go.
While I agree that B.A. was quite dirty and needs a little fixing up, if you can look past that, you can see how beautiful it once was, and will probably be again. We were in Recoleta, maybe that helped. I really don't like big cities, which puzzles me as to why I love Santiago so much, I guess I view it more as a Suburb in the middle of a city. Hell, I love Oahu ( with all of its tackiness) more than Maui. If I want to go out at 1 am for a drink to just run to a convience store, I want to be able to. I guess it's all about conviences. Also, maybe it's because I have worked night shift for the last 15 yrs. While I'm definately not High Maintenance, to me, camping is going to a Motel.
I'm jealous that you are staying at Providencia Suites. I wanted to book there, but my husband is a creature of habit. We usually check into somewhere we know and then go check out the other places for the next trip. We will definately be checking out that one.
I hope the place is alright. I'll feel really bad if it's a dive. You'll have to let me know if it's worth taking a look at.
