As a rule whether in Australia, Philippines or elsewhere I do not purchase these.
I did not seem to receive a confirmatory email for a Metrodeal that I purchased so my money was wasted. This has put me off such offers.
As always, caveat emptor. Some 'deals' are poor value: others may be good but come with restrictive booking conditions either explicitly stated on the coupon or suddenly the case when you ring the dining, tourist attraction or accommodation establishment.
I am a fan of group buying sites because in general you are really buying discounted products and services so they are extremely popular specially in Metro Manila. Ensogo Philippines alone has more than 400,000 likes in Facebook and more than 16,000 followers on Twitter.
If you want coupons for activities/services in the Philippines then buy it at Philippines-based group buying sites like Groupon Philippines, Ensogo, Metrodeal etc.Edited: 10:43 am, April 14, 2012
mousehunt, if your name has joe in it, your email popped up on that link when I hit it .
Metro Deal has been good.
The helmet diving and ball deal looks about to be the regular price :) I paid 40 USD for 6 people to do Helmet Diving..
@ Leftover - MH's name is not Joe Bloggs lol. Thats a common alias used!
Im a great fan of coupon deals and often use Scoopon in Australia. In fact last night we had a 4 course 'fine dining' meal with wine and coffee in the city for A$39 which is a fraction of the normal cost.
Im also on the mailing list for a few of the Filipino coupon sites such as Metrodeal Ensogo etc and got some great dining/massage/sunset cruise deals which I used on my recent trip. I purchased the sunset buffet at the Sofitel for half its price which included unlimited San Miguel.
MH Im a fan of these coupon deals so I would say go for it.
common alias, I thought Joe Blow was common...okay, just wanted to make sure the link was not MH's
My new name, Mousehunt Joe. :p

#4, can you enlighten me as to what a 'ball deal' is?
