Bali trip report - day 1 (south peninsula)

We just came back from our Bali trip and here is our day 1 report.

Denpasar airport - Tanjung beach - Pandawa beach - Uluwatu temple

We arrived Denpasar airport at 10am and our driver was already there to pick us up. We didn't sleep well the night before we fly as it's an early morning flight so our plan for day 1 was to try out some marine sport, relax at beach and visit Uluwatu temple in the evening. Try to have an easy and relax day.

We need to get changed first and keep our valuable things in hotel first so driver sent us to our hotel, Park Regis Kuta before we go Tanjung beach. We were hoping that we can check in early since we booked one of the best room in Park Regis Kuta and we informed hotel that we were on honeymoon holiday when we booked it. But we still need to pay additional Rp400,000 for early check in. Check in time is strictly at 2pm. And yes we paid.

We then proceeded to Tanjung beach. Many different activities are available there, fly fish, parasailing, jet ski, banana boat and etc. We wanted to try parasailing but it is usually only available in the morning due to the wind. We tried 15 mins jet ski at USD35. It was really fun! Shower head facility, changing room, toilet and lockers are available there.

After Tanjung beach, we went to Pandawa beach, another beautiful yet less heard beach. We paid entrance fee of Rp5000 per pax. It's a fun place for your little one. They can canoe paddling in the bay or wading in the rock pool. We sat down at one of the beach bed at Rp5000. There are many food vendors selling BBQ corn, coconut drinks. Massage service is also available. We just relax there for an hour.

Our last stop of the day, Uluwatu temple. Uluwatu is famous for its magnificent sunset view and also the monkey! I saw how a monkey snatched a pair of spectacles from a Hong Kong tourist when his girlfriend was taking picture for him. Monkey is very fierce and aggressive here. You can pay local Rp10,000 to get your thing back but it's not guaranteed. So please do not bring any loose item to Uluwatu. No dangling earrings, no bracelet, no necklace, no hat, no sun glasses, no spectacles (I know you need it but just make sure don't get snatched).

I have shared all the photos here

Thankyou so much for the report and blogs. They were great.

How long did it take you to get to Pandawa Beach? You went there from Benoa right?

Shame the hotel charged you to book in early. Especially mid morning!

Looks like a great trip. My kind of activities to include for some days.Thankyou

@BLuvsBali

Yeah, we were quite reluctant to pay the additional Rp400,000. Yes, we went Pandawa beach from Tanjung Benoa and it took us about 20mins only.
