Just an update:
Right after my last message I booked a Family Room at Novotel Bali Benoa through Expedia, got the confimation and everything was good. Recieved and email from Expedia on Monday asking me to contact them urgently as there was a problem with the booking (no rooms were available) and they would try and find alternative accommodation.
Phoned them and sat on the phone going through hotels with the customer rep, none of the hotels which they offered suited what I was after or needed. They even tried to get me to look at hotels in Ubud, quite a way from wanting to go to Nusa Dua dont you think!!!
They said they had to find me another hotel as per their policy, so they'd continue to look and let me know. In the meantime, I started looking myself trying to find something suitable and I was coming up blank....most of the hotels were booked up or didnt have enough space for the 4 of us.
Anyway, decided to try my luck...I found the Palace Club Suite that suited us but was almost $1700 more than my original booking. Phoned them up, they hesitated on the price, and told them it was their mistake and this is the room I want and needed, tough luck!!! They called the hotel direct, spoke to a supervisor at Expedia and came back and said fine, all booked, confirmation email has landed in my inbox. So a good result in the end, upgraded to a better resort, a suite instead of a family room and buffet breakfast everyday thrown in as well.
So a good result in th end up.
