Lovina, Pemuteran... with mom and aunt? |
|
Hello again... Want to do the dolphin tour, so was almost set on going to Lovina (the Bali Paradise hotel) for about 2 nights. Then I thought about Pemuteran...Taman Sari Amertha. I know it's more west of Lovina and closer to Menjanggan. If I stay in Pemuteran, will I still be able to enjoy dolphin tours without a problem? Just from what I've read and Taman Sari Amertha, it seems Permuteran seems nicer and more peaceful. (Also looked at Gawan Novus..but seems a bit high-priced..about $80 more than Amertha) I'd like to do the dolphin tour..and possibly some snorkeling, not scuba, since my mom and aunt are almost 60 and don't think they could handle scuba diving. What would you suggest? Pemuteran..and do both dolphin tour and Menjanggan? Thanks. |

Hi! Pemuteran is surely a great spot in Bali, if not the best! This village is surely the last unspoilt place on this enchanting island: here it's possible practice the best snorkeling and diving in Bali, and there'a also a turtle sanctuary! Besides near Pemuteran there's the marine reserve of Menjangen Island. P.S: when you'll come back from your holiday can you post your impressions about Pemuteran? It sounds like a wonderful place, and I would to visit it as soon as possible. I wish a wonderful experience in Bali!

Hello giammy, Thank you for the reply. I guess I will have to consider choosing Pemuteran over Lovina... maybe less 'popular' by tourists, but more pristine and unspoiled? You mentioned turtle sanctuary... does this mean we can see turtles if we simply go to that area? I will do some research online, but any feedback from other visitors would be appreciated. Yes, I will try to post...:) I need to post so much...on TA as well as my local Korean travel forum...but I'm so lazy! haha... But promise to try and post... I'm going in May, so you might have to remind me. :)

For the question about the turtles: they're always turtles, and not bugs...it could be a bit difficult, but with just a bit of luck I think that it's possible look at some specimens! However yes, the big adevantages of Pemuteran are surely the absence of the great crowdes, and its genuine character! Kind regards, Giammy!

Hi, Pemuteran is better then Lovina, but to see dolphin you have to start from Lovina beach around 6am. My suggestion is..... Stay in Pemuteran there are hotels such as Taman Sari, Pondok Sari and Taman Selini. Taman Sari Amertha Villa is a little high but it worth. You can snorkel just in front of the hotel. On the way to Pemuteran from Lovina you can see pearl factory and turtle foundation. Here you can also go for a horse ride in the beach. For info only snorkling is USD 35 and scuba is USD 80/person include insurance and meals. But you can always negotiate the price. Thanks, Bali Gen

Hello Bali Gen, Thanks for the advice. Am still deliberating over...Taman Sari Amertha... or Gawana Novus. Gawana looks lovely...but wish it were slightly cheaper.. esp. since it's way out and not in the center. Wonder if the owner's a foreigner... Thanks.
