First time in HK -with children - advice needed please!

Hi - I am visiting Hong Kong for the first time beginning March - staying 4 days. I will be travelling with my hisband, 2 year old and 6 month old.

Is it better to stay in Kowloon or on Island with children?

I am looking for apartment-style/suite accommodation with segregated sleeping and living rooms.

Our budget is up to something around 1500HKD a night but of course would prefer to spend less! Currently our options are:

Salisbury YMCA

Rosedale on the Park

Metropark

2 Macdonnel Road

Bishop Lei International House

Harbour Plaza North Point

Priority is ease of getting around and pleasant place to retreat to - naturally would prefer views!

Grateful for any advice, tips or other recommendations!

Tks very much

Definitely Salisbury, you need a corner family suite, prefer Harbour view.

Rosedale has tiny rooms.

1500 is not alot in HK for 2 rooms,Salisbury has fantastic location, lots of space,is children friendly and with good pram access.

Book as soon as possible very popular for all the reasons above.

We just returned from Hong kong last week. our choices in hotel were fully booked so we ended staying at The Majestic in Jordan, very convenient and rooms are big for hongkong standard. There were 4 of us and we were given a connecting room on high floor, away from the noise which makes it so peaceful, especially when you have children. We paid AUD$900+ for 2 rooms for 6 nights which I think it's quite a good deal. the only setback is that there is a disco downstairs so it's imperative that you asked for high floors (which we did) and we enjoyed our stay there. Give it a try.

Thanks for the fast feedback! The Salisbury was actually our first choice but we advised that HK Island might be a better place with children - especially a hotel near the park.

I'd be grateful for any advice re staying in Kowloon vs Island??

Majestic also sounds interesting and affordable - will check it out. I assume it's in Kowloon too? Was it two inter-connected bedrooms or was there also a living area

1500 HKD is around the discount rates I have seen on the net, but we will pay more if we have to get the right place.

Any mroe tips and ideas v v appreciated! Tk u !!
