Singapore passport holders don't need a visa for Macau or short visits (14 days?) to China.

For Guangzhou, there are direct trains from Hong Kong which is the easiest way. See the MTR website. Direct buses from Shenzhen (after border.

Monday is a better choice for Macau. You can use HK$ to buy your ferry tickets in Macau. On a Monday, you should have no problem returning. On a Sunday, better to get your return tickets in HK.

Hi Dreamer,

Visiting Macau is highly recommended. Spend a nite or two. Avoid Fri - Sun if U like a less crowds. Places must go to: Senado Sq, St. Paul ruins, Fisherman Wharf, Coloanne Village, Taipa Village, Grand Lisboa, Venetian, etc. Don't forget the local food.

Visiting the universities in Guangzhou is pretty nice. You don't need to take a coach to Guangzhou- like what others have said there are trains. The ride takes about and hour or so, and it's about 150+HKD (don't remember exact pricing...but you can see it on the MTR website on the inter city train service area).

Do Macau on a weekday if possible as it won't be that busy. You'll be able to get a seat easier instead of needing to book a premium class (unless you wanted to).
