Do I need a visa if I'm just going to Hong Kong |
Do I need a visa if I'm just going to Hong Kong for visit this coming october? i am a filipino citizen because theres a hearsay that due to olympics need to get a visa... is this true? |
You need to call the Chinese embassy to know for sure. http://www.fmprc.gov.cn/ce/ceph/eng/ But I guess those olympic restrictions will not affect visitors to Hong Kong.
thank you journeyCA for the reply ... in the websites that you have given it says that we dont need to get a visa my worries is due to olympics they lifted that to all people going there is need to get a visa, is the olympics not yet finished? up to when? i just wanna ask also to those who travelled from hongkong this month of aug or sept is the immigration ask for the visa? esp for filipino? thanks...
Are you asking about Hong Kong or China? There are different visa requirements. For Hong Kong, if you hold a Phillipines passport, you can visit without a visa for 14 days.
I agree. If you're just going to Hong Kong, the Olympic visa regulations do NOT affect you.
As a holder of a Philippine passport, you are entitled to a 14-day stay without a visa : www.immd.gov.hk/ehtml/hkvisas_4.htm#part2 Those special Olympics visa restrictions apply only to mainland China.
ok thank you guys.... to all of you!!!!
What about from the UK?? I'm going to Hong Kong for 8 days in November, I have read you don't but just want to make sure. Thanks, Tim
UK passport holders do not need a visa for HK. If you are planning to take the train up into China, you need to get your visa before you leave home - much easier.
How many days would I need in order to take a train to China, I know its not a day trip but was wondering?? I do have a lot planned for my HK trip so I may not have time to fit this in as well T
Duh, depends on where you're going in mainland China, right? If you already have a lot planned for Hong Kong, save yourself the visa headaches (and time, and money too) and just stay in Hong Kong. IIRC, UK passport holders get a 90-day (or more) visa-on-arrival in Hong Kong, due to the Commonwealth relations.
