I see:

straitstimes.com/Free/…

'From July 1, 2008, we temporarily require Singaporean passport holders to enter China with a valid visa,' said the website of the Chinese Embassy in the United States.

Visa-free entry for visitors: No visa is required for ordinary passport holders from Singapore ,Brunei and Japan to visit China for up to 15 days for business, sightseeing, visiting relatives and friends or transit. (From July 1, 2008, we temporarily require Singaporean passport holders to enter China with a valid visa.)

Ok, let me clarify.

Previously, Singaporean passport holders could get a 14-day visa-on-arrival for China. This has now changed and you need to apply for a normal visa (most probably in Singapore) before you arrive at China's doorstep.

So does that mean we have to apply visa to go hong kong? Since Hong Kong is part of China... or it's just for entry into mainland China?

fireball1611,

No, Hong Kong has a separate immigration arrangement, different from mainland China.
