Frequency of Bus 916 express from Dongzhimen to Mutianyu

I saw on a website that the bus 916 express runs from Dongzhimen to Mutianyu between 6:00-20:00. Does anyone know how often or the frequency of this bus between these 2 stops?

Thanks

Every 20 minutes. It does not go all the way to Mutianyu. You'll have to change to another bus at Huairou.

Probably every 10--20 minutes. You’ll need to block out more time for Mutianyu than if you go by private car--Allow 1.5 hours to take bus 916 Express from Dongzhimen Hub to Huairou, plus another half hour to get to the Great Wall itself.

Another option is Mutianyu tourism bus 867 which runs between March 15 and November 15 every year. Check out this post for more tips: wildgreatwall.com/mutianyu-bus-867-to-visit-…

There two 916 there,

one is slow one, go along the normal road

the other one as you mentioned 916, go along the toll road. every 10 minutes there will one, very frequent.

If you pay cash around 12 RMB per person, no conductor, you need to prepare Change.

I just checked about this website,

916 express doesn't reach Great Wall at Mutianyu, it only reaches the city area, from the city area to Great Wall at Mutianyu is around 20 Kilometers.

There is legal taxi now in this district, all electricity one, charges by meter,

It is easier for you to get a illegal car or taxi to the Great Wall at mutianyu, but after the wall, sometimes, it will be hard for you to get a good rate, for there are not so many cars or options there, they will take advantage for that. In this way, you would better get a car waiting for you there to send you back to the 916 express station.

I just checked the website above www.wilde......

It mentioned get a car from Huairou District

10 RMB to the Great Wall seems too low, even for local people, it is not available....

Huairou to Mutianyu for RMB 10?! Not going to happen at least for car or taxi. Even shared minibus is going to be RMB 20-30 each way.

Thanks guys for all your informative input. Last question. Do you know which tower has the best high up or panoramic views of the great wall?

Visitors are allowed to walk on tower 1 through tower 23. Tower 20 (left towers as you’re facing the entrance) is in the middle part of the hill where you wil have a bird eye view of the Wall.

You may need to rest for a while when reaching tower 20 since the section between tower 19 and 20 is really steep, with more than 450 steps. Check out this post for more tips: www.wildgreatwall.com/mutianyu-toboggan-ride/
