The Eye Glasses Mart is fantastic. It's a whole building crammed with shops selling glasses. But you'll be hard pressed to find anyone there who speaks English. It'll be best if you have a local guide/ friend/ colleague take you there so that they can help with translations. Also recommended to bring your existing pair of glasses for them to use as reference. I've brought family members there to make bifocals and that cost us less than 500RMB including the frame.

just one day,if not complicated,they can make it less half hour.

My husband and I had 5 pairs of glasses made at the Eyeglasses market in January. The hardest part is deciding which place to go to as there are just so many vendors. Our glasses took 3 hours (for all 5 pairs) as 3 of them were prescription sunglasses, had they been regular glasses would have been half an hour. As it was a Saturday we just walked round the corner (about 5 minutes) to the dirt market and browsed and had coffee etc.

When we returned the glasses were all ready and then were adjusted to fit, extremely happy with our purchases (less than A$300 for all 5 pairs, including thinning out lenses etc).
