I've paid 400 RMB in the end of 2006. Audi A6, pick-up from Tang Yue Hotel (east of Forbidden City), round-trip to Mutianyu Great Wall, stop for lunch appointment at Gui Jie, visit Yonghegong Lamasery and then sent to the airport.

400rmb?Audi A6?is that true?That is really a good price,even the taxi driver will charge 500rmb .Today the gas's price rising again,i don't think you can get 400or even 500any more

Yes, definitely true. Well note that it was more than a year ago, and it was through a friend, so personal connections might've made a difference here.

I agree chineseqing,no driver wants to go at that price to Mutianyu Section,even taxi driver.not only gas's price up,everything goes up in China now.

but for a fried price,you can`t say anything.

It was a one-off deal through a friend and I don't think it would be an option for other travellers, and neither do I have any contact number for the driver since it was already so long ago!

We used John to go to Mutianyu, his email is johnyellowcar@hotmail.com and his website is www.beijing-driver.com . He took us to the wall, to lunch, and to the Summer Palace for 800 RMB. He is a great and very careful driver, his car is very clean and nice, and he is just absolutely a delightful person and speaks English very well. I highly recommend him, and he is recommended by many others on this forum. Have fun in Beijing!
