Help with question on visa application

Hi all, I'm in the process of applying for a Chinese visa, and am worried (perhaps unnecessarily) about the question/section on the form that asks for the name and contact details of your "inviter, contact or relative in China". I was in China around the time of the Olympics last year on a dragoman tour, and so I was able to get an invitation from drago's 'people' in China. This time I am on my own, so I'm wondering what I should write in this section.

Also, I cannot see on the form any reference to a requirement for proof of accommodation or itinerary (only a little box where you are asked to "list" destinations in a time sequence). Am I missing something, or is it no longer necessary to provide this proof?

Any help is much appreciated.

Cheers, bj

Leave the inviter part blank or put a cross.

The accommodation and flight booking requirement was needed last year for the Olympics but is generally not required now. In the list of destinations, do not put Tibet (even if you intend to go there). If you want a long visa, put a long list of destinations. You do not need to keep to that itinerary once you have the visa.

Do not worry as you are not invited for something official or by family. You just apply for a tourist visa.

You just list the cities that you expect to visit. You do not even need to be there specifically.
