We are thinking of going on a tour with Overseas Adventure Travel to China, Tibet and the Yangtze River in 2008. We would like to upgrade to business class but when I talked to the agents at OAT they weren't very helpful with regards as to which airline or airport we would be flying to China. I live in Tucson so Los Angeles makes more sense. Please let me know your experiences with OAT and if you have travel on business class with them. Any advice would be appreciated.

Thank you.

I was considering the same tour you are with them last year. Had my travel agent do a bit of checking on the company, and got very poor results back. I choose to go a different route instead.

Hey, Noreen --

I'm going on OAT's China, Tibet, Yangtze River, and Cambodia trip, starting in mid-November. I'm going with a friend who's traveled with OAT once before, and had a great experience. This will be my first trip with them.

Sorry that I can't help you with the business class assistance you requested, but here's what I know so far.

I'm impressed that most people on this forum report positive results traveling via OAT, and also positive experiences with the lodging accomodations they arrange, etc.

As for my upcoming trip, it'll be my first overseas adventure, and also my first experience with a travel company. OAT's frequent and thorough updates have really helped a lot so far in preparing me for this trip. They seem to be very thorough in that aspect!

Hope others can provide you more info on the business class arrangements. Meanwhile, I'd be willing to share my experiences with OAT when I return from my trip -- in mid-December!

I

I have been on 8 tours with OAT including the China trip. OAT provides alot for the cost. They usually won't let you provide your own transportation unless you have been with them for 3 trips. I would bet that they wouldlet you do your own travel if you told them that was the only way you would go. They booked us on JAL from LAX. I think it would be worth it to upgrade due to the length of the flight, Jim
