Side Trip from Malindi?

Hi there

i am planning a weeks vacation at the Che Shale Resort, north of Malindi and would very much like to include a 2 day trip to Lamu.

Is it worth the cost and effort of getting there and back? Enjoyed Zanzibar and Stonetown very much and expect Lamu to be similar but nicer?

Looking forward to any comments and suggestions.

1. Re: Side Trip from Malindi?

Definitely worth it. It is a short flight from Malindi airport. Book a hotel ahead and get picked up from the airport on arrival to save hassle on ferry over. A very muslim town so dress appropriately. Shella is more westernised if you like that sort of thing.

If you love Sea food do a day trip to Robinson Island in Gongoni, it is great, but

you have to pre book it.
