Googled tourism in Nairobi and seems a lot of 3 Star hotels have been built in Nairobi recently. I never stay in more than 3 star and googled a couple mentioned in article. 'One is the three-star Sunrise Hotel in Nairobi. Sunrise is just seven months old but already attracting 50 to 100 international guests every month. The cost of conference packaging is an important distinction between the three and two-star hotels and their five-star counterparts. “It’s very competitive and the facilities we offer for such conferences rival those of five-star hotels,” he said.' Has very few reviews re Sunrise on TA. But nowhere could i get a room rate without emailing hotel directly.
A middle-ranked 3 star Nairobi hotel on TA is Sliver Springs. Has 91 reviews and seems fine. Basic standard room on website is 15,000 KSH i.e. about USD170 for single person. This is higher than i expected. Does not say if brekkie is included. TA price is USD195.
Is USD160-180 the going rate for single room in fairly centrally located hotel in Nairobi these days?
