journey to the airport on Sundays

We have to catch a flight from our hotel on Raphta Road at 08.30 on a Sunday. How long should we allow to get to the airport having heard of horrendous trafic jams. It is a precision airways flight to Kilamanjaro.

Not sure where Raphta Rd is located, but there is very little traffic on Sunday mornings (it's not a work day and many are in church). However, flight to JRO is international - country-to-country - (even if only takes 50/min) and you should allow minimum 2/hrs prior departure to be at the airport for the PW checkin.

Rhapta Road is in Westlands. As long as you are at JKIA by 6.30 am, you will be in good time. Leave at 6.00 am, as there is no traffic at that time on a Sunday morning. I've done Westlands JKIA in 20 minutes at 6.00 am. Precision Airways use Kenya Airways for their check in.

No traffic at all during that time on a Sun. It will take you 20-30 mins to get to the JKIA from Rhapta Rd

though you should probably allow some contingency for the recently introduced security checks on the approaches to the airport
