I have read a few reviews on TripAdvisor for the Kivi Milimani Hotel in Nairobi, the hotel we will be staying at before we start our tour of the Serengeti, and I am a little worried about security.

How likely is it that someone will try to break into a hotel room whilst there? Is it likely that your room may be broken into during the night? How safe is the hotel? How often does attempts of theft and break-ins occur?

I am an extra careful person, even more so when I am travelling, and will have all valuables on me at all times.

I am travelling with a friend, we're both female and petite. I'm not concerned about the shabbiness of the amenities on-site but I am about security.
