Where to stay in Nairobi

We need recommendations on a hotel to stay for 1 night before our safari ( arriving from UK+ want to be refreshed b4 the safari) + 1 night after, before flying on to Durban. Also as we are flying to the Masai Mara we will probably need to leave a suitcase in the hotel. Is this usually ok?

Thanks.

Hi Microsh, for convenience, as you'll be flying from Wilson, stay at the Aero Club of East Africa. It's only 5 minutes walk from the check in for your flight to the Mara.

We stayed there for a night in September & were very pleased. The room was clean & comfortable & everything worked with an excellent breakfast next morning.

If you want something more luxurious then try the newly opened Boma Hotel, about 5 kms from Wilson.

All the hotels are used to storing luggage.

... or if not the hotel, your tour operator can hold luggage.

Thanks- emailed the Aero club. Seems to be recommended for just one night- we want one night b4+ one after the safari. Do you recommend both nights there? BOMA out of r price range!!

The Aero Club is fine, we loved it. Also check out the bar, it's full of aviation memorabilia dating back to the 20s, including a complete Merlin engine from a Spitfire!

Make sure that you ask for a room in the new block.
