There are two limits when using an ATM, the card itself has a daily limit and the ATM has a transaction limit, you will be limited to whichever is lowest.

The different banks have different limits, for example

Barclays is 30,000/-

KBC is 20,000/-

CFC Stanbic is 10,000/-

Occasionally an ATM will have a lower limit than its bank's normal one, this will usually be if it is risk of regularly running out of money, either because of its popularity or its location means it is not re-stocked as frequently as others.

You can make more than one transaction in a day as long as it is within your card limit

The Barclays 40,000/- limit also applies to foreign cards although the exchange rate almost always means this is more than the card limit permits, so you are limited to a lower amount

Equity Bank's daily limit on foreign cards (my Visa debit card anyway, which has a UK £500 limit) is Ksh40,000.

As Doff says, the limits vary.
