I have been in and out of Nairobi many times over 4 trips, but never done anything there. I may have one full day in January with nothing planned (after arrival and before business). What is your favorite thing to do, place to see, etc.?

How about nature walk in Karura Forest or game drive in Nairobi National Park ? That said, NBO town is a bit boring with endless traffic jams everywhere.
Consider, Lake Naivasha is mere 90 mins drive from NBI. Nature walk to Hells Gate & Crescent Island & boat rides to see Hippo.

Favourite activity? Going to the National Park with a picnic :-). Second favourite activity? Going to Sheldrick in the evening to see my eles - seeing those little orphans and hearing about what they've been through helps put everything in perspective. Third: the Nairobi Railway Museum - lots of interesting history about my country, big old locomotives to climb on and photos to look at - and of course that famous carriage from which Charles Ryall was dragged to his death by one of the Maneaters of Tsavo :-)
My favourite is a packed breakfast in Nairobi National Park with a bottle of champagne.
Second favourite - sundowners in Nairobi National Park.
3rd favourite a BBQ in the garden with friends, and baridi tuskers.
Thank you all for the suggestions. FLFourOneZero -- why "Sheldrick in the evening" as opposed to during the day?
