Could some one advise me how much would be the taxi fare for the full day say from 9:00am till 6:00 pm for travelling within Nairobi

Not more then Kshs 4,500. If you are heading to Karen it might be more.
at most Kshs 5000 around the CBD
There is usually a mileage limit, which you won't use up if you are just in Nairobi.
I'd be very surprised if you could get a full day for Ksh5000 these days. I had to wrangle for that three years ago, with fuel prices 70% of what they are now and the cost of living much lower. I think you might get that if it was just into town and back again, but with driving around, he (she? - not seen a female cabbie yet, anyone?) would be counting the kms and would need to agree a clear itinerary before settling a price somewhere south of Ksh8,000.
(I'm assuming a pickup from JKIA - if it's all CBD, you still might get it for Ksh5000)

There is one on the North Coast who is familiar to many TA members, Richard

There's a mhindi one here in Nairobi. She's excellent.
As for day rates, I wouldn't expect to pay anything less than between 6500/- to 8000/- for full-day use. 4500/- would have been the price circa 2008-2009.
Heh, FL, we agree on something! Celebration time… ;-)
Seriously though, great to hear there are a few female cabbies about. It's only 30 years since I first saw a woman driving a bus in the UK, and actually did a double take it was so unusual.
Now if only social change could happen as fast as climate change. Just can't choose which soapbox this evening…
Richard
you can get one for 7000/=
Very helpful (sarcasm). Care to enlighten us as to whom, how and where?
Excuse my ignorance. But how much is that in $
thanks
