Hi Kevcath,havent used them personally,but have a friend in Luxor who speaks very highly of them,& we,re thinking of using them on our next visit in Feb,for accomodation & trips.Cheers Joan

I have not used Jane but have heard great things about her, she is an honest and contributing member of this forum (flatsinluxor), send her a pm. My friend Tony has used her several times and speaks very highly of her. If you want some more info I will gladly email him and ask? I would not normally recommend someone I haven't used but he has been dozens of times and is an Egypt expert,lol

We used Jane to organise a day trip to Cairo for us last year. She really couldn't have been more helpful, and arranged for us to go exactly where WE wanted to go, and see what we wanted. She arranged a wonderful guide, who was incredibly knowledgable and had a real passion for his country. We didn't even get asked if we wanted to stop at a perfume shop or alabaster factory, which made such a welcome relief! She responded to all emails immediately, and her charges were very reasonable. I would recommend her without hesitation.

We have just returned from Egypt after staying at one of Jane & Mahmoods properties and I can give nothing but praise. We have been to Luxor many times and decided to have a change and wanted to stay on the west bank. We contacted Jane and arranged to stay at their Goubli property. The flats were great and very spacious, the pool is finished however the pool bar is yet to be furnished but the whole area is very private and there is a kitchen area on the ground floor with a fridge to put your water etc in whilst at the pool area.

The staff at the flats are brilliant and there is a member of staff at the flats 24/7, big Mohammed is a true gentleman and cannot do enough for you, Akhmed has a taxi and is very reliable and more than fair with his prices, also when you ask him to take you somewhere he takes you there and fetches you right back without stopping at every alabasta shop on the way(the luxor savvies will know what i mean!!!!)

We only booked one trip with Jane and it went like clockwork so I would have no problem recommending her trip service.

Having now spent time on the westbank I would find it hard to stay on the eastbank, the people are so much more friendly and we walked from the flat to the local shops(about 10 mins) a few times and didnt have a scrap of hassle. It was great going to the local shops and buying fruit and veg etc and you really see the difference in price for everything on the westbank, it was so much cheaper.

We fully intend to go back and stay with Jane and cannot wait for our next holiday

Hello Egypt-goers. I now have been on the trip and can share with you my experience with Jane´s company. Our trip was very smooth and all that has been arranged was delivered. The highlight was the sailing tour of the Nile where we in the caring hands of Hadjij, who in my view represented the ideal guide and who towards the end became more like our friend. Also Jane´s appartments on the Luxor West Bank are absolutely gorgeous and just a stone throw away from all the sides on the West Bank. I would have two comments on our trip as arranged by Jane. First, check the competitive prices for certain items such as hotel bookings and private tours as they seemed a bit overcharged once we were in Egypt. But that is a minor point and given the guaranteed level of comfort you might want to pay extra. Secondly, insist on dealing directly with Jane and not her husband, an arrogant man completely lacking (unlike Jane, Hadjij and pretty much everyone we met on the trip) the qualities required for the challenging job of dealing with foreign tourists who come in different shapes, sizes and mindsets. With the above in mind I would certainly recommend you let Jane take care of you.

I used Jane last Spring to do her tour of the quieter, less well visited tombs, after reading a very good piece on her in the Telegraph - and she lived up to all expectations. My friend hadn't been before so we also did more mainstream sites for her like VOK proper and one of her other guides did that day - can't remember his name but he was very good, very knowledgable - and I wouldn't hesitate before using her services again.
