Hi

Not sure about closest or best view but we stayed at the Le Meridien Pyramids hotel at Giza and that is very close and has very good views of the Pyramids, I think it is the closest but not 100% sure, It is also a very good hotel.

Believe that Meridien and Mena House should have the best views.

Hi All.

Just back from Cairo on monday, the best view of the pyramids is from the Le Meridian.

Make sure you ask for a pyramid view room when booking.

Hope it helps.

Baz.

Sorry - pressed <Send> too quickly!

To see just how near the Mena House is have a look at my pictures at travel.webshots.com/album/563786178SzqfjH…

This goes straight to the last pic in the album, so have a look at the rest also.

http://community.webshots.com/user/elaref takes you to the main page where other albums are available

Various room types - Garden View is cheaper than a Pyramid view, as you could expect, the Garden ones facing the opposite direction. So if you want a balcony with a similar view to this, you pay for it

Great pix! Thanks. I especially like the "stitched" night photo. I recall having lunch in the garden at Mena House with that great Pyramid view. That was a long time ago for me. I'm hoping to get back with DW next year and stay there.

Great photos - especially the night shot of the Mena House. I'm still trying to get the hang of stitching.

The first time I visited Cairo I stayed at the Meridien and went to dance workshops during the day at the Mena House. I remember deciding that, the next time I visited Cairo, I wanted to stay at the Mena House.

I found it very surreal sunbathing around the swimming pool at the Meridien and looking up to see the pyramids right there in the background!

I think you would be happy with either of these hotels.

Have a great time.

Mena House is definitely the closest. The Meridian is farther away but has views but if you want best views and closest and lots of history it is the Mena House. My guess is that Meridian would be less expensive but I would definintely get a room on upper floor. Both of these hotels are great for the Pyramids but a long congested drive (45 min.to one hour) to get to the center of Cairo and all the other sights. Good luck.

We recently stayed 4 nts at Le Meridien Pyramids. It was a great hotel and we had a view of the pyramids from our room. It was handy staying there when visiting the pyramids or travelling to Saqqara, Dahshur or Memphis.
