Hi for the children I personally would go for factor 50. The sun is very harsh. How much to take is a difficult one as it really depends on the product. Some are water proof and some not. Some say you only need to apply once a day. I normally take Piz Buin for me and use 3 different factors in 2 weeks.

I normally start off at 25 and go down to 8 / 12. Again this is personal as everyones skin tone differs.

Annie - just a point about the sunlotion with mozzie repellent, it's not as effective as seperate sun lotion and repellent, plus, sun lotion needs to be well rubbed into the skin; repellent shouldn't be rubbed in. We use a spray repellent and also spray around ankles/wrists on clothes with it (but only on clothes we don't mind risk staining!)

The sunsuits are brilliant but we had to keep appying suncream to bare parts very regularly as our little one was in & out of water constantly.

I found the Soltan range for kids to be very good. I used factor 50 on my extremely pale son(takes after his dad!). He was in the pool for hours on end and never burnt once in the weeks that we were there.(went in june and august)

I agree with Jameos get the mosquito spray instead of using the suncream. I thought the mosquito's only ventured out of a night?? Am I wrong??
