If I make an online reservation, I have to pay for all the days in advance. Say I'm staying for 9 days, and after 2 days, I realize the hotel isn't to my liking. If I leave, do I normally get a refund for the other 7 days, or have I lost the money?

The same booking rules apply everywhere in the world. No refund for prepaid stay.

But if your room rate is same on line and off line, why can't you just stay there for first 2-3 nights and give them a notice if you like to stay longer?

I don't think korean hotels are fully booked at all seasons. So, you can find rooms somewhere always. Also, remember that what you pay is what you get in Korea.

There is no surprising bargain deal. I just wish thre are more 3 star hotels in Seoul. We only have all the basic Yogwans, on every block of tourist areas just like 7 Eleven's. They are around 50 bucks a night.

Good luck!

Just book for a 3 days not 9. You can get online while you are in Seoul and make new reservations at a different place.
