Clothing requirements for the Mosque

I would like to know what the dress code is for visiting the mosque for both men and women. Do we need to wear long sleeves, pants etc . Also, any rules about The type of shoes. Sorry , but we just don't want to get it wrong and offend anyone. Thanks

The official guidance says "Long, loose fitting, ankle length trousers or skirts for women and men. Women must wear a headscarf. Arms need to be covered as well. Have a good trip!

Men should wear pants and any shirt with sleeves is fine. Both short and long. Women should wear a skirt that covers the knees or pants and a shirt that covers your shoulders. You will be provided with an abaya and shayla regardless. If you take your own head scarf they will let you use that it in lieu of their shayla. Enjoy. Visiting the mosque is an amazing experience. The tours are highly recommended. The Emirati tour guides are incredibly knowledgable.

Why worry about the shoes unless you are concerned about loosing them? You have to take your shoes off before entering any mosque

It doesn't matter what footwear you have on as shoes have to be removed before entering any mosque. FYI, Emirati men always wear sandals when they are wearing national dress (long white attire).

Hi

From above #2, understand that the mosque will provide an abaya and shayla regardless for women, do they charge for the rental?

Also, read that no tight fitting clothes www.szgmc.ae/en/img/Mosque-Manners.jpg, was wondering are we allowed to wear skinny jeans?

Thanks

Abaya will be provided free of cost, that will cover your skinny jeans. No worry.
