First time pilgrims to Israel arriving at 9pm

As first time pilgrims to |srael, my sister & I are arriving at Ben Gurion airport at 9:00pm in June 2013 and our Christian guesthouse is located in Jerusalem at the foot of Mt. Olives.

What time do you think will we get out of immigration?

At that point in time, which sherut taxi service shall we get from Ben Gurion airport that can bring us safely to our guesthouse at Jerusalem Mt.Olives? Where do we get this sherut? How much is the fare?

Thanks in advance.

Depending on how many planes are landing at that time, you should get out of the airport in around an hour after landing.

The sherut to Jerusalem is Nesher Taxi - they are right outside of the terminal - when you exit the terminal turn right and look for their signs. The fare is 62 NIS per person - however, they do not go to all locations in East Jerusalem and may not go all the way to your guest house. In that case you can take the sherut to their offices in downtown Jerusalem, the fare will be about 40 NIS per person and from there take a taxi to your guesthouse.

Thanks Oreets for your prompt & clear response to our questions.

Just three more questions please:

Do taxis in Jerusalem operate for 24 hours? Any suggestions of reliable taxi operators in Jerusalem?

Will they be accessible from Nesher Taxi office in downtown Jerusalem from midnight onwards?

Thanks much in advance!

Not Oreet, but taxis operate 24/7. YOu can take a taxi from the airport directly to the guest house. It is a regulated rate. Or you can have Nesher drop you in the center of town--by the bus station and get a taxi from there. The Nesher taxi office is actually located on a street that is a pedestrian mall!
