late night/early morning arrival at tel aviv airport

Hi

My wife and I will be arriving at approx 1am Sunday 9 June 2013 at ben gurion and we're wondering about transfer to the city and ability to check in at a hotel. Some of the hotels we've looked at in the $130/night range appear to have no check-in after midnight. Any suggestions on hotels and transportation into the city at that hour by any chance?

Thank you.

Transportation from Ben Gurion airport to Tel Aviv:

1) Take a taxi to Tel Aviv. Taxis are available at exit 03 outside the arrivals hall.

2) Take the train to Tel Aviv, and from Tel Aviv train station ("Savidor") take a taxi to your hotel (cheaper option). Trains run once an hour during the night.

As for hotels, I think many would allow check-in after midnight. You'll just have to contact them directly to verify, before you book. After booking, you'll need to notify them of when you are due to arrive.

At that hour your best bet is to take a taxi directly to your hotel in Tel Aviv. You can also take the train which runs once an hour through the night, but then would need a taxi from the train station so why bother.

As far as hotels, you should contact a few of them and see what provisions they have for check in at that hour.
