Day tour of Amman coming from Jerusalem

Hi,

I will be in Jerusalem for several days and am thinking of taking a tour of Amman for 1-2 days. Does anyone know of a tour company that I could look into? Thanks!

Ask on the West Bank forum.

You should post this on the Jordanian website. Most people generally visit Petra and not the capital of Jordan. You will need to arrange a visa before leaving your home country in order to cross over the Allenby bridge and expect delays at the border crossing (even if there was a tour of Amman from Jerusalem the situation would be similar).

You would need to allow at least a couple of days to do this - owing to the time taken in crossing the border, it's not really realistic to do a single day tour. Also bear in mind that entry/exit/visa fees for Jordan and Israel make this quite an expensive trip.

I'm not one to discourage adventurous travel plans, but unless you particularly want to see a specific site in Amman (the Citadel?), if you are simply looking to experience a different kind of Middle Eastern city, you could start with Ramallah and Bethlehem, which are both just a short bus ride from Jerusalem.

If you allow 2 days for this trip you can take the bus from Nazereth, cross at the Sheih Hussein bridge near Beit Shean and no need for a prior visa :

Nazareth - Amman

Please note—you must call in advance to book a ticket for this bus! Call Nazarene Tours at 04-601-0458. (+972-4-601-0458)

The bus leaves across the street from the Bank of Jerusalem, about 2 km west from the Fauzi Azar Inn on Paulus VI St., past a large roundabout (near the Basilica) and just past a large junction (HaPikkod).

Cost: 75 NIS (check price again, this is old info).

Duration: 5 Hours

Other Costs: Exit tax from Israel, Entry/Exit taxes for Jordan

Amman to Nazareth

*Departures from Amman from Gardens Hotel

Sat., Sun., Tues., Thurs.: 14:00

Mon., Wed., Fri.: No Service

Nazareth to Amman

*Departures from Nazareth (HaPikkod Junction)

You MUST call and see if they are operating and to book your ticket in advance.
