From Jerusalem To Shoresh

Hi,

I was wondering how much would a private taxi cost from Damascus Gate to Shoresh Green Hills? Or alternatively, what number of Egged Bus I should take to go to there?

By bus - take bus no. 186 from Binyane Ha'uma on Shderot Shazar . The line is operated by Superbus not Egged and this is why it does not start at the CBS. The ride takes about half an hour.

To complete Shoshi's post - to get to Binayney Ha'uma, just take the tram from Damascus gate till the Central bus station stop. Shazar avenue is on the opposite direction of the Central bus station itself (which is the building with the big clock on it).

186 runs from Jerusalem on weekdays at: 06:00, 07:20, 09:40, 11:45, 14:05, 16:15, 18:30, 21:00, 23:15.

186 runs from Shoresh on weekdays at (hours are approximates): 06:35, 08:20, 10:45, 12:45, 15:05, 17:15, 19:30, 21:55.

To complete Amos's post (!!), you have to walk through the narrow passageway (with the tram tracks behind you and a fenced-off building site - or rather giant hole - on your right. You will come out on Shazar, and the stop for the 186 is right there.

As a point of information, there are Superbus routes starting inside the central bus station - the 415 from platform 3 goes to Beit Shemesh and has a stop at the Shoresh junction. It goes every half-hour. If you don't mind a bit of a walk from the junction to the Green Hills, it's an alternative that you mind want to consider, since the bus is so frequent, if you don't have luggage. When you get off the bus at Shoresh junction, walk back a few yards, then turn right and walk through the tunnel under the highway. Keep going straight, in the direction of Beit Meir. It's about a 2 km walk from Shoresh junction to the moshav.
