A group of 6 adults (all of us out of shape) will be in Eilat in early March 2012 for 3 days. We're planning on one day going to Petra, one day seeing Eilat/on the beach/resting, and one day renting a car and visiting what can be seen in the desert in one day from Eilat.
On that one desert day so far we know we want to see Timna Natl Pk. (which I believe closes at 1pm in the winter). Anything interesting for the rest of the day and not too far? (We are returning the car that same day, so we need to be back in Eilat when the rental car agency closes) Are any of the kibbutizm nearby worth visiting (Lotan or other?)? Anything new in the area?
Your suggestions are most welcome. Thank you.
