It's definitely around right now (in our part of the Maldives, anyway). We've just shared a picture of our glowing blue beaches on our facebook page: www.facebook.com/ConradMaldivesRangaliIsland
Apparently it's easier to see on moonless nights.
Wow this is really nice! But unfortunately Conrad is a very expensive place which we can hardly afford =( is this phenomenon found throughout the Maldives by seaside or only in specific places?? I wonder whether I would have chance to see this at places which I'll be ggong...Hulhumale. .Maafushi and Kuredu Resort
Was seen twice in the 12 days we were at Soneva Fushi about 2 weeks ago.. Hope you are lucky and get to see it
Wow I hope I could be as lucky as you! Can't wait ^^
We saw this a few times on kuredu , the time of year was last week of Oct first week of Nov .
Saw it in Soneva Fushi (Dec) and Dusit Thani (June), heard it could be seen at Hufaven Fushi too.
Its really wonderful, Wish you good luck!
In 14 trips I've only seen it once, and that was in Iru Fushi in November. It's amazing, like tiny diamonds and they stuck to your feet for a while so you had sparkly soles!
We've seen it in Kandholhu a couple of years ago in January it's florescent plankton spectacular sight though
We've seen it on every trp to Komandoo and also on Gangehi.
Good luck hope you get to see it......the first time you do you'll be amazed.
It was brilliant at Athuruga in September
