KJ1 - gosh, such a difficult question to answer! It's really hard for someone to answer that for you, or even to give you advice, as everyones experiences are good and bad for different reasons. My advice, and we have been to the Maldives twice, would be to get every brochure out that you can find with the Maldives in, and rank all the resorts by virtue of what is important to you, facility wise, like number of rooms, pool, accommodation type, board basis, budget etc. You should be able to whittle down your options that way. As for beaches, I really dont think any of the resorts would be unable to impress you with it's beach, but searching the net for travellers photos is a good way of checking out what the beaches are actually like. If you want nice accommodation, I personally wouldnt go for anything less than a 3star+. The reviews on this website give a good indication of peoples experiences in nearly all the resorts. We have been to Meedhupparu and Coco Palm, and loved them both!
