About two years myself and a few other people ended up in Vietnam on business. We had one day off and scheduled a tour to see as much as we could. We ended up with Jason Nguyen as our tour guide. Several of the people in our group were young adults during the Vietnam War and it was all very close to home. I was impressed at how much knowledge Jason possessed and how open he was to American tourists. We saw so many things that day but most importantly I came away with an education about the war from a different perspective. Regards Jamie

One thing that staggers me is one posters "unfamiliarity" with the "Napalm Girl"( and the aftermath of this childs life)----This live War Correspondent footage has been acknowledged for close on 40 years, as being ( MOST SADLY), the most graphically photographed scene of the 'American War"---and seen by the rest of the world for that period of time!

To: Mtra1723,

It has been awhile, as Land_Premier said, new promoting style of the xxx keep coming up using the same old trick.

>>Non-commercial

No self-promoting commercial web addresses or e-mail addresses. We reserve the right to reject any URL for any reason. <<

You said, "I had never heard of the Napalm girl and the "Christmas bombings" and things of that nature. Like I said in my original posting, these things are not covered in the history books. The Vietnam War (American War) is less than 1 chapter in most 1st - 12th grade American History books. You can take history class covering this period in college, but I was a Computer Science Major"

- I was in CS major too. I went to University of California. There is a huge section dedicated to East Asian Studies inside the library. A lot of VN war materials can be found, including the Napalm photo-- never enough time to read. I took American history as pre-requisite. I also took VN history as an extra credit course.

- Just key in any search engine, you can learn much more than learning from the self-promoting tour guide.

- It is said that you had never heard of this story before. But it seems like taking the tour with Jxxx is a starter for you, at least you are having fun learning together with you kid now.

Oops, mis-typo,

It's SAD that you had never heard of.....

Sell-Nothing is a resident of VN. Don't be a fool to give out tour guide's email address when he asks. Pretending...

This forum has a lot of independent travellers. It's a wrong place for self-promoting trick.

See how fast TA strike. Those 2 posts gone -- history lesson learned :-))))

Book,

I was doing a search for "land" to find posts that I have replied to and whether someone waits for my posts or not, and I saw my name here.

This thing happens again, this time with a website!
