Want to know if it is more practical to book accomodation, tours etc when we are in Vietnam or should we book whole trip with a Travel agent. Cheers Hillbillys Report as inappropriate |

You can book accommodation on line with no problems. Book tours when you arrive, that way you can shop around and compare prices. Report as inappropriate | ||||||

Hi Hillbillys, We had the same problem and decided to go with a local Vietnamese guy for our 17 day trip in June from Saigon to Halong Bay. He gave us heaps of info and booked some of the hotels for us and we booked some ourselves, purely based on economics. There are six of us and it sounds likes a great trip. We will write it up on Trip Adviser when we get back. We did not want the Travel Agent type trip where you are just one of the cattle. We want to stay in good pubs with good pools, and have a VB at the end of the day when we want one, and experience the local culture. Ask him for a quote, nothing to lose.
