Well with all the dodgy travel agents in Vietnam I found it very hard to find any reviews on Impress Travel. All I found was very strong web presence but no reviews on this travel agency. Thus I was a bit hesitant to pull the trigger. However knowing I was using my credit card to book I was secure with knowledge that I could get my dosh back if things went all pear shape. I also had a mate check out the office in Hanoi for good measure.
Initially found a good rate for Red Dragon junk 2day 1 night with Impress and decided to go with them. They were far more responsive than Indochina Junk website and it seemed like I received fast and individual attention more so than Indochina. So that pretty much sealed my choice.
The agent that took care was Ms. Helen Le. I can't tell you how nice and responsive to our needs she was. She answered all of my questions and setup a deposit via credit card website back in the Spring. Then a week or so before we took the junk - I paid the balance by credit card. She would easily meet you at your hotel for cash payment if that is the route you want to go.
Also we decided to use a private transfer rather than use the combined shuttle. The rate was cheap compared to what I was quoted by taxi and far more comfortable than one of the mini coaches. The driver was really great and he dropped us off at the hotel and then transferred us to the junk in the morning then picked us up the following day to return us to Hanoi.
In summary Impress Travel is a legit travel agency and they took really good care of us. I can't speak more highly of Ms. Le and the service that she provided. I wouldn't hesitate to use Impress travel again for bookings in Vietnam. 5 Star Service!!!!!! ;)
