I wrote this while in Vietnam but am now home. Just wanted to pass along some of the things I learned on this,my second trip to VN.

I have been in VN since the 10th of March and have found out many things. This is my second visit and I am having a wonderful time. Here are some of the things I have learned. First it didn't save a dime to wait to book and buy my ticket on Vietnam Airlines until I arrived.

I have a list of good guys and bad guys. I arrived in Saigon on March 10 at night after 17 plus hours of flying and went to my hotel, Phoenix 74, WARNING they do not keep your reservation! This was very frustrating, it was late at night and I took a cab to the hotel but no room. After trying several close hotels Madam Cuk rescued me and I stayed at her overflow hotel as the regular ones were full. I later moved to Ha Vy hotel which I liked. Ms Tam is very helpful and the hotel is nice. I next went to Nha Trang (pronounced Nha Chang) I flew Pacific Airlines for $30. My hotel there is highly recommended Ha Van, The owner Nicolas and his Manager both speak excellent English and the hotel has a very nice rooftop bar and restaurant.

My next stop was Dalat and the hotel there Dreams 1 is great. The owner/manager Ms Dong pronounced Yum is so sharp. If you use Easy Riders, and I hope you do,I highly recommend that you request Paddy. His English is excellent and he is very professional but sweet and helpful. We became friends.

I am now in Hanoi and will issue another warning!! Hanoi Guest House did not honor my reservation, this is a problem in VN it would seem.I am now at Quang Hiep Hotel which is nice but a bit overpriced. My hero here is Mr Diep of adventureindochina. If any readers need a very excellent travel agent please try Mr Diep. You can chat with him from your country and he will answer your questions and take good care of you. He can handle Visa on Arrival and any trips or hotels that you might want to book.

I am in hanoi now and would answer any questions if possible so if you would like any information I could provide please e mail me at copit208@gmail.com

Ever thought about confirming your hotel bookings a few days before you actually arrive?

Thanks for the report.

How long did you stay in Siagon?

Wasi it long enough and what were the most memorable things?

I've booked my tickets for October but can't decide on how long to spend in Siagon > Da Nang > Hoi An > Hue and Hanoi (18 days all up). Any suggestions about how many days to spen in each place would be most appreciated.

How did you find Pacific Airlines?
