Going to Phuket for 6 nights in the middle of November and thinking of booking the Duangjitt Resort - has anyone stayed here? If so, what is it really like? I have read a couple of reviews and they are very good, but there just hasn't been that many reviews ... so hoping to get the inside track from someone who stayed there

Thanks

Hi

i realise that this reply is probably late but info might be of use to others.

The main pool at Duangjitt resort has finally been drained and is being renovated and should be ready for the high season 2007.

This pools filtration system had not been working for a long time and as the pool is so large the water quality (which often looked OK due to it's size) often depended on how many were swimming during the day and how much chemicals they put in at night.

During my last stay at the beginning of 2007 the water looked slightly milky during the day.Management did say that the pool would be closed for renovations during the low season, which they have thankfully done.

Finally the pool can be enjoyed for all that it offers without having to worry about ear infections or skin irritations.

This resort is good value for money with 3 pools but hte breakfast is very ordinary.

Hi we stayed at the Duangjitt in august and found it too be fabulous.

The grounds are huge and beautiful. The staff were great. Our rooms were plain but had all you needed and they were large and overlooked the main pool and hiilsides. Great views. Unfortunately the main pool was closed but it should be open now. The 2 other pools are really good but the main pool is huge and a great drawcard for this resort.

It is only a few mins walk from all the activity of beach road and otop markets.

We really enjoyed it and would stay there again.

We found that the majority staying there were euopean and middle eastern, perhaps not as friendly as some but we had a great time.

Any other questions send me an email

Cheers Deb

Had a fair stay here. I wasn't too fond of the bathroom set up. When you first enter your room, you are pretty much IN the bathroom! There are sliding panels to seperate the bedroom and the bathroom. So if you are in the shower with the sliding doors closed, your roommate will be stuck in the room unable to go out until you're done. It's fine for couples, but was a lil strange amongst friends.

Otherwise it was a pleasant stay. Enjoyed the balcony that overlooked the pool and was a nice way to read and relax while waiting for friend to finish their shower. Sheets seemed stiff as if the detergent had not been properly rinsed off. Toilet paper was stingy... no spare one was provided so we constantly stole them from the maid's cart. Comped breakfast every morning, which was nice. Staff was really, really friendly.
