Visiting Pattaya in August 2013 - Need some info......

1. Is it OK to visit Pattaya in August?

2. What are CONS of such a visit?

3. Does Koh Larn (Coral Island) trip/ferry and Sea Walking remain open during that time?

4. Does the Beach shacks remain open in August?

5. Does the Walking Street remain as lively and colorful during that time?

I understand that their will be splashes of rain. But other than that. does the lively nature of Pattaya die down during that period?

Hey Britmaveric,

By Beach Shacks, I meant Beach Tents with beers and beach loungers.

Thanks :)

Pattaya is a city. Huge malls, modern movie theaters, hospitals, supermarkets but there are also street vendors, food carts and many cheap restaurants. You can rent beach chairs on the beach if you want but all along the beach area and Pattaya Sai Song you will find malls, restaurants, beer bars and Seven Eleven stores.

Hotels are cheaper during the off season. Maybe a little more rain than November but usually only for an hour or two. Lots of "stuff" going on, etc.

hi, infi

does off-season mean that the weather is "not as good" and so fewer tourists are visiting, perhaps ?

Maybe. During the last years the weather has been unreliable and the influx of tourists from Asia and Russia has kept the town busier even during the traditional off season. There will be more rain showers during the off season than during the high season. You can still expect hotels to offer cheaper rates from May to October.

Pattaya is busy all year around. Whilst June and July are probably the quietest months in terms of tourist numbers, you will find nothing stops in Pattaya ever !! Rather than going to Koh Larn, why not take a trip to the much quieter and nicer far islands where you will get white sand beaches and clean waters.

The weather is a little bit better during the late November - February time range but tourists do visit Pattaya every day of the year. More do visit during high season. Keep in mind that some tourists who arrive November through February are getting away from snow and extreme cold in N. America and Europe.

During the low season hotel prices are cheaper. Malls are still open, street vendors available, bars and restaurants still available.

During the past week maybe one short shower yesterday around 11 a.m. and over around noon. But it is hot right now. Using the beaches and pools no problem.

Up to you.

hey man , pattaya is a gas all year and weather pretty constant, i came back today after my 56th visit

the beaches in pattaya are pretty horrible, full of rubbish in the sea and there are no beach shacks just loungers which you pay for..........you are not on a desert island here!!!

also dont go near the beaches at night for a drink or a girl or whatever as you are likely to end up getting seriously done over...........night time, stay away

walking street never dies out.....go up Soi LK Metro or Soi Baukao.....much better.

WS is for gullible tourists
