Pesticide use in Thailand

With all the media coverage on unexpected deaths due to pesticide poisonings used in Thai hotels for bed bugs, what should first time travelers be looking for?

andy53, what do you think they are covering up?

I just read about these unexplained deaths yesterday, it does seem odd they are all young women and there seem to be no firm conclusions on the causes.

"All these deaths" - two I think. Having stayed in hundreds of different hotels in just about every part of Thailand in the last 30 years, I've never been worried by, or encountered any problems with pesticides in hotels.
