Around soi 3 Sukhumvit is known as "Little Arabia". There are many restaurants, of many types, catering to the Muslim community.

Also, with the situation in Southern Thailand, many Muslims have migrated north, with more and more stalls catering to them. This stall, at MBK's 6th floor food court, displays the Halal symbol:

You shouldn't have much trouble finding eateries.

Hi;

You may or may not like the resturants around Sukhumvit - they mainly cater to Arabs, and the food therefore may lack the spiciness that a SE Asian would like (if I am wrong, please someone point out a good resturant in this area!).

A good bet is to try the area very near the Ratchathewi BTS station (just one stop from Siam). Get off at the exit right next to 7-11 (Phayathai rd - turning left onto Petchaburi Rd). Cross the street - and turn left on Petchaburi - - and about 300 meters or so, you will run into a resturant Mak Yah (sp) that is owned and run by Thai Muslims (who also speak Malay)....and the food is SE Asian style and the Thai dishes have been pretty authentic (not watered down). :P Also, just down the street there is a Mosque, and also another Halal resturant and some Halal street food.

There is also a Mosque near the Mandarin Oriental hotel - and some food places there - but I have not really explored that area...it is also further away from things (unless you are staying at the MO). Ratchathewi BTS is so close to tourist center.

There was also a somewhat recent thread about good Malaysian-like food in Bangkok, which you may try to dig up.

At worst, you can try this link: http://www.zabihah.com/ls.php?id=161

I have stopped using that list as it can lead to some wild goose chases - so use it with care.

At worst, look out for "Wrap-It" for some simple food. http://www.wrapitsandwich.com/background.html

There is one in the food/resturant area in the basement of Siam Paragon (not food court). I believe there is one at the Emporium Mall Food Court (Phrom Phong BTS) and there used to be one on Sukhumvit around the Nana BTS station as a stand-alone store/resturant (if you go to the street market there). It certainly is not great Thai food, but something to watch out for if hunger hits.

Have a nice trip. :)
