CC,

I wanted to thank you for recommending Meeky Yang, and Joe Huang.

I got Meeky to drive us 1 day to the Window on China, and then to the Mei CHuang Ranch.....it was so fun. my kids' first time to ride a horse, and feed cows..... he was very courteous, very careful driver, and very good English, and very very nice. He always help me with the stroller, the bags, our coats, and even hang on to my kids while my husband and I were getting organized. He answered every question we had..... I paid him $ 3000 plus $ 300 for tips for his excellent service. Thought I should let you know. He was on time too !!!

Joe Huang- also a very nice guy. Took us to Wulai Pause Landis. Drove his WISH wagon which was much more roomier than the normal taxi. He didn't quote a charge because he said one destination, so we just used the meter. It was $ 680 to get to Wulai from Tango.

Then the next morning, we called him from Wulai, he told us he will be there to pick us up within 40 minutes, he got to us in 30 minutes and took us back to the city. Again by meter reading. He was courteous, and good english, careful driver, and very helpful as well.

Both taxis are very clean too.

Thank you so much ! I highly recommend hiring these two drivers if you need to go long distance around Taipei.

That's great, Katetam! Thanks for letting me know in such a detailed review; I appreciate it lots. It's thanks to the positive reviews written by other forumers after my initial posts that make it possible to continue recommending these drivers. I think the NT680 it cost to go from the Tango to Wulai was very fair, the Tango being in Taipei City and Wulai being in Taipei County. I recall a trip within Taipei City alone (from Tianmu to Taipei 101) costing me NT500+ by meter.

A lady cabbie took us out from WuLai's Cable Car Station to XinDian MRT Station for an agreed TWD600.

We were rushing to get out of WuLai quickly so that arrangement was greatly appreciated.

Till now, I remembered the sheer delight on her face as she stretched out the TWD1000 note for good glimpses as we alighted from her cab @ XinDian.

TA. :)

I would say 6 max, one beside the driver, 3 in the second row, then 2 in the back seats. The third row is really the space of the boot in an ordinary car, so I found it more suitable for kids below , say 10 y/o. We usually rent a Wish for our out-of-town trips but our max no. of passengers never exceed five, two of which are young kids.

This is such great information. We're a family of 4, and we need a ride from Taipei to Lee Foo Theme Park. One quote I got was for USD $200 for a day's service. That's too much!!! So, I'm looking for an alternate ride.

Also, we just might contact this guy for our trip to Xiao Ren Guo. We plan to go next month.

Thanks so much for your inputs.
