Hi CitiesTraveller & Texas Viking, I am glad you find our photo and travel blogging useful and interesting =) CitiesTraveller, We found out most of the information from some travel books (mostly from the nationl libraries - maybe you can pop over to the libraries to have a look) and at tripadvisors.com (here)! There are alot of information in this forum - eg. you can read up some travel books to find out the places you are interested in and find out more abt the geographical locations, reviews etc here. The Taiwan experts here are very helpful too. Taiwanese are a helpful lot of pple too. We visited a few places based on locals information when we were chatting with them. Maybe you can let us know which areas of Taiwan you are interested in then we can help you to start planning from there. =) TexasViking, Yes, we did had a great time too. =) We started our day 6 ard 930am. We ended pretty late too. By the time we reached Hualien City, it about 7+pm. We were tired-out by then. And yup, I agreed that the cab driver did a great job in making the trip worthwhile. I am glad to hear that we did not miss out much for the Zhao Fong farm ^^ The observation tower was pointed out to us by our cab driver for photo taking, otherwise, we would have missed it too. As for the ice-cream, our cab driver told us that it used to be place where he brought his wife on a date during his younger days - the ice-cream might have tasted much better then? =D The green vege is nice right? We tried some of the pig trotters (courtesy of the shop owner), but found it too sweet for my liking..^^ 林田山 is pretty interesting if you are into the history and culture. It shows alot abt the culture of Taiwan in the past at that place. Of course, our cab driver's knowledge helped to paint a bigger picture to us cos he used to worked as a log-truck driver in the past. The place is pretty small though, we only spent approximately 30 - 45 min to finish this spot.

Hi DawnGel, I saw in your blog that there is a bus from jiaoshi to taipei. If i want to take the bus from taipei to jiaoshi, where do i board the bus and where do i alight at jiaoshi and walk to yeh zhi wu? Can give me some advise? I see the map in the website, suppose bus from taipei is ard main station area, but bus at jiaoshi i cant really figure out. keke.. thank you

Hi Sillywawa, From Taipei, you can board the bus at two places. The details are shown here: http://www.kamalan.com.tw/servicr_station.php The last 2 service stations are in Taipei. The 2nd last one is near Taipei Train station(台北車站客運總站(1A售票櫃台)- Exit 6 from the underground mall after you come out of the MRT. This should be the more convenient boarding point. If you look at the same webpage, look for 礁溪站. The bus will stop at the 葛瑪蘭客運礁溪站 shown on the map. From there, you can walk towards Jiaoxi Train Station, turn right onto 中山路2段, Yeh Zhi Wu is on the left side of the road - easily spotted. Does it help? or is it more confusing? =p
